Appalachian Ballet Company Nutcracker Auditions

Auditions are Saturday, August 14th. Auditions open to community dancers 10 and up. There is a $10.00 audition fee. Bring pointe shoes if proficient en pointe. Please arrive 15 min. before scheduled time to register. 11:00 am - 10 & 11 year olds; 12:15 pm - 12 & 13 year olds; 1:30 - 3:00 - 14 & up. Auditions are held at Van Metre School of Dance. Summer Dance Intensive

Appalachian Ballet Company & Van Metre School of Dance Hosts 2010 Summer Intensive June 7-18 9:00am-2:00pm (Mon.-Fri.) Ages 9 and up This program offers a variety of technique, conditioning and performance classes. The dancers will study ballet, pointe, modern, jazz and hip-hop. A final performance for family members will be on June 18th. The cost of the intensive is $300. Directed by Amy Moore Morton and staff at Van Metre School of Dance. A Fairytale Dance Camp

The Appalachian Ballet Company & Van Metre School of Dance host A FAIRYTALE DANCE CAMP. For ages 4-10. July 5-9 Monday – Friday, 9:00am- 1:00pm. Directed by Amy Moore Morton and staff at Van Metre School of Dance. Dancers will receive ballet lessons, jazz classes, create their own fairytale, have snack time, a tea party and participate in a daily craft! The Fairytale will be performed as a magical showcase at noon on the last day of the adventure for her whole family! Make this a week of the summer your little fairy princess will never forget! Cost for camp is $175.

Appalachian Ballet Company dancers along with men of the community compete in "Dancing with our Stars". The evening includes wine, hors d' oeuvres, dancing, silent auction and the competition.
